KES Introductory Video Transcript

( Kaleiopuu’s principal, Alika Ahu walks into the scene from the right. Behind him is a billboard that says, “Welcome back to school Kaleiopuu Ohana” )

Mr. Ahu: Oh hi boys and girls! Mr. Ahu here to welcome you back to a new and exciting school year!
Mr. Ahu: Here are Mr. Leslie, Mrs. Ramos, and Mr. Madamba with some important information to start the year.


( Mrs. Ramos is standing at the front of the school, next to a sign that reads, “DO NOT ENTER PLEASE USE FIRE LANE” )
Kristin Ramos: Safety and security are crucial to us here at Kaleiopuu Elementary school. Therefore, only students and staff are allowed on campus. Parents, if you would like to walk your child to their classroom, please use the fire lanes we have on both sides. ( Mrs. Ramos points to the upper fire lane on the right, and the parkside fire lane on the left. )

 
[Morning Drop Off]
( Sped up video of the upper fire lane. Text reads, “Buildings G & H / Grades 1, 5, & 6” )
( Mrs. Ramos stands near the upper fire lane gate. )
Mrs. Ramos: This is our upper fire lane, where you can walk your 1st, 5th, or 6th graders. ( She motions to the fire lane behind her. )

 
( Sped up video with text that says, "Let’s go to H building!" and "6th grade & Special Education" )
( Mr. Leslie standing next to H building )
Michael Leslie: H-building has special education and 6th grade. Please drop off your child here, and allow them to walk to class.
( Mr. Leslie motions to the staircase on his left )

Walter Madamba: This is G-building, we have 1st and 5th graders here, please drop off your child here and allow them to walk to class.

Mr. Madamba: 1st grade parents, you can wait here in the grassy areas, we just ask that you please stay off the playground equipment.

[Park-Side Fire Lane]
( Sped up footage of going to the park-side fire lane. Buildings D, E, & F / grades K, 2, 3, & 4 )
( Mrs. Ramos stands near the park-side fire lane gate. )
Mrs. Ramos: This is our park-side fire lane, ( motions behind her to the left ) where you can access buildings D, E, and F, for grades Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Mrs. Ramos: As a reminder, no vehicles are allowed down the fire lane during school hours.

 
( Mr. Madamba standing in front of the school park gate. He points to a sign showing the time the gates open and close. )
Mr. Madamba: This our park gate, it opens at 7:20 AM, and closes at 2:30PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, except for Wednesdays, where it closes at 1:30 PM.

( Mr. Madamba is now at D-Building )
Mr. Madamba: 3rd grade parents, you can drop off your children here at D-building, and allow them to walk to class. ( motions toward the D-building hallway )

( Mr. Leslie standing to the side of E-building )
Mr. Leslie: 2nd and 5th grade parents, you can drop off your children here at E-building, and let them walk to class. ( He points to the staircase on the left. )

Mrs. Ramos: Kindergarten and 4th grade parents, you can drop off and pick up your child here at F-building. ( motions arm at the F-building staircase )

 
[Breakfast Hours]
( Sped up footage that passes by the school cafeteria. Text reads, “Breakfast hours: 7:10 – 7:45 AM @ CAFETERIA” )
( Mr. Madamba standing next to the cafeteria entrance. )
Mr. Madamba: If your child would be eating breakfast, they may line up here, ( motions to the KES mural ) and serving time is from 7:10 AM to 7:45 AM.

 
[Morning Drop Off]

( Mr. Leslie stands in front of the cafeteria in the student drop off and pickup area. )
Mr. Leslie: Parents, if you’d like to drop off your children from 7:50 AM, every school day morning, you may do so in front of the cafeteria. If you’d like to walk your child to class, you may do so using either fire lanes. ( He motions toward the upper fire lane, and then the park-side fire lane. ) Please remember the final tardy bell rings at 7:55 AM.

 

[After School Pickup]
( Mrs. Ramos stands in front of the cafeteria in the student drop off and pickup area. )
Mrs. Ramos: For after school pickup, the students will be gathered here in front of the cafeteria. Parents, when you come into school, please drive safely and pull up all the way to the front. ( Mrs. Ramos turns away and points to the front of the student drop off and pick up area. )

 

[Closing]
( Mrs. Ramos, Mr. Leslie, Mr. Madamba, and Mr. Ahu are standing in front of the Kaleiopuu mural on the side of the cafeteria. )
